It is time to set the record straight: the original Sony Xperia Z, which was released back in February was a decent  phone. It was like Sony had stopped it disorganized schedule of handset releases in order to capture features that Android users actually want, things like 1080p, microSD, and a premium look and feel.

Even the Sony Xperia Z failed to captivate, it wasn’t just the subpar battery life which held it back, there was also a lack of a standout feature which caused the Sony Xperia Z to be buried midst news like the GS4 and the HTC one. There was a new announcement about the Nokia Lumia 1020 windows phone , whose camera suddenly made the pokey 13 MP camera module look like old technology.

That’s why, just a period of seven months later we are looking at a flagship phone by Sony, the all new Sony Xperia Z1. It is integrated with a far better camera and some other subtle, but important enhancements. buyers of the Xperia Z may be agreeably displeased being left behind. They did not  constitute an especially large population anyway. In contrast, the Xperia Z1 has the greatest mainstream appeal.

Hardware

The Xperia Z1 was used for calls in the middle of downpours; it was dunked into pints of beer; it facilitated the reading of e-books while in the bath; and it was was none for the worse for wear. Admittedly, there was a slightly hoppy scent around the seams for a period of 2 to 3 weeks, but only until the phone was washed under tap.The reason for this ruggedness is of course Sony’s waterproof and dustproof design.

There are many colors in the Sony Xperia Z1 as shown in the above like black,purple and white. The phone’s predecessor, the Xperia Z, was able to survive immersion down to a depth of 1 meter, whereas the Sony Xperia  Z1 can go slightly deeper than the Sony Xperia Z, to a depth of 1.5m, and it can function there for up to 30 minutes. It can only fuction full in fresh water, mind you. Do not try to submerge it into the sea and do not expect it to survive an assault of mud water.

 

The environmental protection comes courtesy of internal seals on the top left of the Sony Xperia Z which covers the headphone jack and the loud speaker. It is located on the bottom of the headphone jack. On the right side of the phone there are also plastic flaps over the SIM slot, microSD slot, micro-USB and the charging slot.

The flaps are an improvement of design with the micro USB flap slightly larger and less fiddly when it comes to plugging in a charge cable. You can also get a magnetic charging dock accessory for around $50, which connects to a dedicated terminal on the left edge and will probably make charging even more convenient.

However, all is not perfect but the tempered glass attracts pocket-fluff as the Xperia Z did. Both the front and rear sides of the phone have an uncanny ability which attracts little particles made up of fabric away from a piece of cloth to a point where it makes the phone look messy.

Display

 

 

The new Sony Xperia Z1 possesses a 5 inch, 1080p, LCD display. Depending upon your perspective you’ll either notice poor viewing angles and faded blacks, or amazing sharpness and natural color reproduction. It is mainly because of the native 1080p content that the display comes alive, and its crispness becomes even greater than that of the Xperia Z. This is perhaps due to change in the picture engine, which loses the old Bravia branding in favor of “X-Reality,” and which is mostly good, but occasionally over-does things like edge-sharpening. But, overall it is the sharpest display out there.

Camera

Sections of our phone reviews just had been the same since the Nokia Lumia 1020 came to town. Manufacturers are still are still trying to catch up to Microsoft’s PureView technology, and Sony is no exception.The Sony Xperia Z1’s sensor is very small and it lacks optical image stabilization and there is no way that the Nokia Lumia 120 match to the Sony Xperia Z1 camera module. It boils in the law of physics

So, rather than dwell on Sony’s camera app — which is pretty basic, anyway — we’ll get right to the task of trying to gauge imaging performance at a hardware level. But here’s what we need to find out: even if the Z1 can’t claim to be the 1020’s equal or not.

Software

There isn’t a great deal to report in this section.Then again, there are  new features that deserve a mention in the latest software built of Android 4.2.2. The first of these is the rich-feature lock screen that lets you to add up five or six widgets that can be seen without needing to unlock the phone — including things like Gmail, Google Now and Google+. The “Personalization”  includes the ability to customize Quick Settings that are accessed by the notifications while pulling-down, which means you can get faster access to the brightness if you want it and we certainly.  A new menu on the app drawer which is activated when you slide the left edge of the screen which makes it easy to organize ,there’s more control over “small apps” which can run in re-sizable windows on top of your home screens.

Performance And Battery Life

This was the section that came with a great disappointment with the Sony Xperia Z. Partly it was its Snapdragon S4 Pro processor lacked oomph compared to next-gen Snapdragon 600-equipped phones like the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and HTC One, but the bigger problem was it consumed too much power and it’s aging chip and thirsty 1080p display. The both issues of the Sony Xperia Z1 which is the performance like the next generation 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 with 2GB of RAM which beats the Xperia Z’s Snapdragon S4 Pro.

 

There has been a improvement in the battery life of the Sony Xperia Z1 the Z1 has lasted upto 12 hours, once only where it killed the battery life within a period of one hour of Skype call over WiFi. It worked better than the LGG2 which had the same processor 3000 aAh battery capacity but it had a stronger result than the Sony Xperia Z1

The Verdict 

 

Sony has thrown everything into the 20 mega pixel camera module , however it yet did not mange to beat the Nokia flagship’s windows phone. We can say that say that the Sony Xperia Z1 risks falling into the same trap as its predecessor. If we were being cynical.

The Sony Xperia Z1 is a excellent all rounder it also haves water and dust proof . It has excellent,attractive and well built design and it has a powerful camera in a skinny frame.The Sony Xperia Z1 has a lack of image stabilization hurts video and low-light stills and it has a 1080p display of bad viewing angles
