Best New Android Tablets – 2013

best-new-android-tablets-2013

We’ve talked about what are the top 5 Android tablets right now, but what about the best new Android tablets that haven’t arrived yet? Let’s take a look at the new Android Tablets for 2013, too.

Best New Android Tablets 2013

As usual, the most popular and highest quality Android tablets this year, should be the Nexus tablets, and also some from Samsung.

Next-Gen Google Nexus 7

The next generation 7 inch Google Android tablet is definitely going to be Google’s most popular tablet this year, because of its higher mobility (people seem to prefer smaller tablets now), and also because of its very affordable price. The expected specs are:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon S600 (1.6 Ghz)
  • 7″ 1920×1200 IPS display
  • 5MP back camera
  • 2MP front camera
  • 16/32 GB storage
  • Android 4.3

Google Nexus 11

This should be Google’s second most popular tablet this year, and it should be released in the second part of the year, along with a higher resolution display and more powerful processor.

  • Samsung Exynos 5 Octa (1.8 Ghz/1.2 Ghz)
  • 11″ 2560×1600 Super PLS display
  • 8 MP back camera
  • 2 MP front camera
  • 16/32 GB storage
  • Android 5.0

Samsung Galaxy Tab 11

Samsung seems to want to release their own version of the Google Nexus 11, but with Nature UX 2.0 (formerly named Touchwiz interface) on top. The rumors also point to a slower Exynos 5 Dual, though, which I find a little strange. Unless they want to price this one significantly less than the Nexus 11 ($300?), it’s still likely it will use the same Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor.

  • Samsung Exynos 5 Octa (1.8 Ghz/1.2 Ghz)
  • 11″ 2560×1600 Super PLS display
  • 8 MP back camera
  • 2 MP front camera
  • 16/32 GB storage
  • support for microSD 64 GB
  • Android 4.3/TouchWiz 2.0

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0

This tablet feels like what the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 should’ve been specs wise. However, the processor is still too old, and should be significantly slower than the Qualcomm Snapdragon S600 in the next-gen Google Nexus 7. Still, it should make for an interesting tablet, especially if you prefer the 8″ screen over the 7″ one (I do).

  • Samsung Exynos 4 Quad (1.6 Ghz)
  • 8″ 1920×1200 Super AMOLED display
  • 5 MP back camera
  • 2 MP front camera
  • 16/32 GB storage
  • support for microSD 64 GB
  • Android 4.3/TouchWiz 2.0

The new Android tablets coming out all seem quite interesting and compelling, although I believe the best new Android tablets will be the ones that will have the overhauled Android 5.0 version this year, which unfortunately might be only the Google Nexus 11 and the new Google Nexus 7. If you won’t be able to afford any of these tablets anyway, then maybe some more affordable tablets that cost under $100 are more suited for you.
